1. For undergraduate degrees 

a) For undergraduate degree, 178 points 

b) For undergraduate degree in human medicine and musical composition: 183 points 2. For postgraduate degrees 

a) For specialisation qualifications whose duration is between 1 and 2 years, up to 20 points. Up to 10 points are awarded for an additional year, up to a maximum of 30 points. 

b) Up to 40 points are assigned per Master's degree. If you present two master's degrees, an additional 20 points are assigned, without exceeding 60 points. 

c) Up to 80 points are assigned per Ph.D. degree, when the teacher accredits a master's degree. 

d) Up to 120 points are assigned per Ph.D. degree, when the teacher does not accredit a master's degree. 

Note: Postgraduate degrees awarded by foreign universities must present the respective validation of the MEN.

Qualified Experience

General Criteria (Decree 1279, Article 9)

Research experience up to 6 points for each year in the equivalent of full-time.
University teaching experience up to 4 points for each year in the equivalent of full-time.
Qualified professional experience in academic management positions in companies or entities of recognized quality up to 4 points for each year in the equivalent of full-time.
Qualified professional experience other than teaching up to 3 points

c) For a Ph.D. degree, up to 80 points are assigned, when the teacher holds a master's degree.

d) For a Ph.D. degree, up to 120 points are assigned, when the teacher does not hold a master's degree.

c) Associate Professor

University professional degree.
Four (4) years of full-time university teaching experience, not replaceable, of which one (1) year must be effective experience in full-time teaching or teaching and research at the University of Valle and in the category of Assistant Professor.
27 salary points for academic productivity. Of these points, at least:
Fifteen (15) must be for publications made in the last four years or in the previous category.
Ten (10) must correspond to research.
Ten (10) points must be reviewed by external evaluators, and one of these works must be defended before peers from other institutions.
Three (3) salary points for outstanding teaching obtained in the category of Assistant Professor.
74 points are assigned

d) Full Professor

• University professional degree.
• Six (6) years of full-time university teaching experience, not replaceable, of which two (2) years must be effective experience in full-time teaching or teaching and research at the University of Valle and in the category of Associate Professor.
• 56 salary points for academic productivity. Of these points, at least:
• Twenty (20) must be for publications made in the last four years or in the previous category.
• Twenty (20) for research, and a significant contribution must be presented to peers from other institutions.
• Four (4) points for outstanding teaching obtained in the category of Associate Professor.
• 96 points are assigned

Academic Productivity

• Salary Academic Productivity. General Criteria: Decree 1279, Article 10.
• Bonusable Academic Productivity. General Criteria: Decree 1279, Article 19.

Academic-Administrative Management Activities

• Equivalences and Recognitions of positions (Decree 1279, Article 17, and Res. No. 008 of February 28, 2023, of the Superior Council of 2002).
• Instruments and procedures (Res. 083 of 2002 of the Superior Council, Chapter III)
• Formats for the evaluation of the academic administrative position (link for the formats)
• The process takes place in January and February
• The points are recognized by the CIARP on March 1 of the respective year
