Distinguished Teacher

It is the academic award granted by Universidad del Valle to those teachers whose outstanding participation in teaching, research, and social projection has made possible significant contributions to science, technology, humanities, art, pedagogy, or the Social Sciences, standing out for their contributions as researchers and generators of knowledge through the development and efficient application of their skills and competencies. A Distinguished Teacher has the vision and creativity to offer solutions to specific problems of the regional, national, and international reality; encourages and promotes in students and among academic peers the love for research, the generation and appropriation of new knowledge.

Emeritus Teacher

It is the academic distinction granted by Universidad del Valle to honor those retired teachers who, during their teaching exercise, stood out in research, artistic production, or academy administration; teachers who offered exceptional services to the institution, recognized for their moral and ethical qualities; who executed their profession as a university teacher with temperance, justice, loyalty, and leadership. During their tenure at the University, Emeritus teachers were distinguished as unflagging promoters of change and improvement for the University, its workforce, and society.

Honorary Teacher

It is the academic award granted by Universidad del Valle to those teachers who have dedicated themselves to science, technological development, arts, humanities, education, or Social Sciences for most of their lives and whose outstanding career deserves to be shown as an example to new generations of university educators.
