It is an accompaniment program for students in their first semesters, who are recipients of the government's program Ser Pilo Paga (best high school students), and admitted by Condition of Exception on adapting, using, and enjoying university life. Its main objective is to provide students with the tools to reach academic success and personal fulfillment.

Academic Culture Support Groups -GRACA-

The Academic Culture Support Groups -GRACA- have the specific purpose of accompanying students in critical reading processes through strategies such as reading texts from disciplinary areas, interpreting instructions and task objectives, and taking notes, among others. The writing of texts is boarded with processes like documentation, planning, elaboration, revision and rewriting, handling of the forms of the language concerning knowledge, etc. Orality, kinesis, and proxemics are approached as ways of communicating knowledge and interact with others within the framework knowledge construction.

University Life Courses

UNIVERSITY LIFE courses seek to prepare newcomers to the university world to face the challenges posed by the university from the first semester and make a better-guided transition from school to university.

The first of these courses focus on creating scenarios for students to understand the meaning of the changes that university life brings and guides them to make the necessary transformations. At the same time, it seeks to create awareness regarding the attitudes and habits to respond to academic demands. The second course starts from the training level each student has and the resistance of many to reading and writing, seeking to make them aware that without good academic reading and writing skills, their learning achievements might reduce, and so their employment possibilities.

Pre-Calculus Courses

These are summer courses aimed at all first-semester students of the academic programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Natural and Exact Sciences. The Department of Mathematics has prepared statistical reports that measure the positive impact of the courses on students' academic performance, considerably reducing the closing of mathematics courses.

Tuition under your payment capacity

Economic tuition rights according to the student's ability to pay. The tuition fee is settled considering the social-economic level to which their residence belongs and the value of the monthly tuition of the high school the student finished in. (It increases each year, the same percentage in which the monthly minimum wage increases).

Financial tuition discounts for electoral participation C-337-1197 constitutional court

In compliance with the Law, the Universidad del Valle makes a discount of 10% of the value of the financial tuition for voting on the immediately preceding election day.

Academic and financial incentives

Universidad del Valle gives these awards to students who, being in the same semester of their Academic Program and under similar academic conditions, obtain the best five averages of the semester. The students receive a 100% discount on the basic financial tuition for the immediately following academic period.
